Personal information is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act R.S.A. 2000 c F-25 Section 33 (c). It is used in case the City may need to contact you about your parking permit. This information will not be sold or exchanged with any other organizations. Declaration

By selecting "I agree", you confirm and declare that all information provided by you is accurate and complete. You acknowledge that the parking permit is not transferrable, and that any misuse of the permit or violation of the Terms & Conditions may result in immediate cancellation of your permit.

Terms and Conditions

1. Parking permits are only valid in locations with signed parking restrictions that state ‘Except Permit Holders’.

2. Parking permits are only valid in the Permit Zone in which they have been approved.

3. Parking permits are only valid when used on the vehicle in which it was assigned. Exceptions include permits that are not assigned to a specific vehicle.

4.  Parking permits must be clearly displayed on the vehicle dash, or rear-view mirror. The City shall have no responsibility to reimburse any person for tickets, towing fees or other charges if the permit cannot be viewed by enforcement authorities.

5. Permit holders must comply with the Alberta Traffic Safety Act and local Bylaws.

6. If a visitor permit is lost, damaged or stolen, it will not be replaced until the next permitting cycle.

7. Permits expire on the last day of the month and year noted on the permit.

8. If an applicant moves from their address, they must return all parking permits to the Municipal Works Department.

9. The City reserves the right to review and rescind your parking permit if the information provided in the application is inaccurate, if it is found that there is misuse of the parking permit(s), or if you violate the Terms & Conditions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of parking permits are available?

There are three types of parking permits available within Residential Permitted Zones:

1.Residential: for residents with vehicles registered to an address within the Residential Permitted Zone. These permits are vehicle specific and display the license plate number of the vehicle in which they were assigned. Residents are eligible for one (1) residential permit for each vehicle registered to their address within the zone.

2.Visitor: for guests of residents who reside within the Residential Permitted Zone. These permits are not vehicle specific and do not display a license plate number. Residents are eligible for one (1) visitor permit per address within the Residential Permitted Zone.

3.Special: for businesses or other unique circumstances within the Residential Permitted Zone. Special permits are dealt with on a case by case basis. If you believe you may qualify for a special permit, please contact the Municipal Works Department. Businesses are eligible for a maximum of two (2) special permits.

How much do the permits cost?

There is no fee for parking permits.

How long are permits valid?

All permits have a two-year cycle, with the expiry month and year printed on the front of each permit. Permits expire on the last day of the month and year noted on the permit. Upon expiry of your permit, you will be required to reapply.
